It’s been a whirlwind year for Donna Kelce.
From watching her sons Jason and Travis Kelce face off in February’s Super Bowl to bonding with pop superstar Taylor Swift, Donna has become a household name for NFL fans and Swifties.
Speaking with PEOPLE about her partnership with the NFL’s official wine sponsor, Barefoot Wine, Donna says the recognition from fans has been “a little different” for her these days as Travis, 34, continues his budding romance with Swift, 33.
“It’s been a ride. That’s for sure,” says Donna. “Sometimes I feel I’m on some kind of a different planet. I’m like, ‘What has my life become?’ ”
Despite the chaos of her newfound fame, Donna says it’s “kind of fun” to see the admiration from NFL fans. “It is. It’s fun being recognized. Most everyone is pretty respectful and very positive.”
Most importantly for Donna is that Travis and Jason, 35, are enjoying their family becoming household names and playing the sport they love.
“The good thing is my boys do some great stuff on the field, so they’re pretty happy about it,” she says.
Last month, a source close to the Kelce family told PEOPLE that Donna “likes” Swift and “thinks she’s very sweet and down to earth.”
After Donna was spotted hanging out with Swift during the Chiefs’ game on Sept. 24, the mother of two made an appearance on the Today show.

When asked what she and Swift were chatting about during the game, Donna joked that she’d “never tell,” before going on to share that she was talking about the staff on the field.
“You know what it was, I was talking about this: you know when the commercial people come out in the orange gloves and they’re on the field. I was mentioning when they go like this,” she said as she moved her hands in a circle, adding, “the commercial is over and they can play again.”
Hanging regularly with Swift has been surreal for Donna, she recently told PEOPLE, saying that it felt like she’s in an “alternate universe.” But while her son’s romance with the popstar has fans going wild, Donna admitted that she wasn’t a Swiftie before they got together.
“I would say not,” Donna says, when asked if she would use the label that mega fans of Swift call themselves. “My era was Earth, Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan, things like that. That’s more my music.”
“But obviously, talent is talent,” she said of Swift.
