Travis Kelce looks set to focus on the Kansas City Chiefsover Taylor Swift’s upcoming return to her ‘Eras Tour’ despite the football franchise not playing a game in the upcoming weekend.
The 34-year-old tight end will get a week off before heading into a Kelce family showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles, who his brother plays for as a center, for Week 11.
Kelce clearly knows what the Eagles can do, after facing them in 2023’s Super Bowl, and will look to keep his body in prime condition against the side that has only been defeated once in nine outings this season.
Could that be a tension point between the pair? Is there trouble in paradise? Quite simply, no. It’s just that the footballer likes to keep his bye weeks free of plans so he can keep his career on the right track.
“[I] never like to plan things [on bye weeks],” Kelce said on his New Heights podcast. “You just don’t know how healthy you’re going to be or how you’re going to feel whether you’re winning or losing,”
“I definitely got the future in mind and got to get this body right. I’m not trying to go and f-king be out and about if we’re out here losing.
Chiefs win in Week 9
After a shocking defeat to the lowly Denver Broncos in week eight, the Chiefs wasted no time in hitting back their NFL rivals on November 5.
They defeated the Miami Dolphins 21-14 at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas despite dropping 14 points in the third quarter in a true test of the side’s mettle.
The Dolphins were not pushovers either, they entered the game with a 6-2 record and the lead of the AFC East something they’ve retained following the loss.
Therefore it was a strong statement by Kelce’s side, although the tight end was largely cut out of the game. He made three receptions for just 14 yards and no touchdowns despite Patrick Mahomes throwing for 185 yards.
